Air Quality Monitoring
Real-time air quality data across major German cities
Current Air Quality Index
Key Pollutants
Particulate Matter
Fine particles that can penetrate deep into the lungs. Current levels are within safe limits.
Nitrogen Dioxide
Mainly from vehicle emissions. Levels are acceptable but increasing in urban areas.
Ozone
Ground-level ozone formed by sunlight. Current levels pose no health risk.
Carbon Monoxide
Odorless gas from incomplete combustion. Levels are well below safety thresholds.
Understanding Air Quality Index
Data Sources
Air quality data is sourced from the German Environment Agency (Umweltbundesamt) and state environmental monitoring networks. Data is updated every 15 minutes from over 500 monitoring stations across Germany.
